Connection: King Menkaure (Mycerinus) and queen and Great Ziggurat of Ur

Beliefs play a role in both works. The memorial statue of King Menkaure (Mycerinus) and queen is created in the belief of the afterlife. The statue’s left foot steps forward as a symbolism that they have moved on to a better life. Meanwhile, the whole creation of the Great Ziggurat of Ur is for the moon god who bestowed upon the city. It is a temple to respect the god in belief that they will make the city prosperous.
